Annual Governance and Assurance Framework Audit

In order to provide assurance to partners, the Gateshead Safeguarding Adults Board (GSAB) undertakes an annual audit of its Governance and Assurance Framework. The audit assesses how effectively the Board has met its statutory duties and obligations as set out within the framework, while also identifying areas for development and improvement.

The 2025/26 audit was undertaken by the GSAB Practice, Performance and Quality Assurance Sub-Group, providing enhanced multi-agency scrutiny and challenge. This approach supports transparency, strengthens partner oversight, and helps ensure that the Board continues to fulfil its statutory responsibilities effectively. The findings and recommendations from the audit will inform the Board's ongoing development and improvement activity during 2026/27.
